Not long after my arrival in New York, I had a great encounter that led me to be hired to teach in three New York City middle schools, an experience that initially taught me the demographics and geography of the city but as time passed it illustrated much more.  The Nativity Schools are located in three different boroughs: the Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn.  I visited each school every week.  I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with amazing teachers and staff that were extremely supportive of my, at times, unreasonable artistic projects.  But most of all, I am grateful to all of my students that taught and challenged me more than I could have ever imagined.
